Holy Corner Community Playgroup is over fifty years old and has continued to adapt over the years to meet the challenges of a changing world. Community and play values are at the heart of the care and learning for children 2- 5 years, which is within a parent-led community setting rich in social learning opportunities, and with a deep respect for the rights of children as individuals.
Our HMIE report published in August highlights our inclusive community ethos, collaborative working between parents and staff to support children, and the creative use of our outdoor space. The Playgroup is regulated by the same quality standards as nurseries, with HMIE rating our service as ‘good’ on both ‘learning, teaching and assessment’ and ‘securing children’s progress’. Recognising the dedication and hard work of parents and staff, the report captures Playgroup’s warm, nurturing approach in our care for children, in a free play environment for young children to thrive. To maintain the accessibility for the service for families in the wider community we aim to keep fees as low as possible.
Parents and carers are very involved in Playgroup life and have a chance to influence and contribute to the education of the child in their early years – whether it be sharing languages, storytelling or specific skills, the diversity of our community setting is its strength.
Holy Corner Community Playgroup operates Monday – Friday mornings during term-time. If you are interested in Playgroup for your child consider booking a visit to see what Playgroup life is like. Find out more on our website: https://holycorner.org
