Stewart's Melville College, The Mary Erskine School, The Junior School announce: P1 Entrance Assessments will run from 11 - 19 January for entry in August 2024.
Primary 1 Assessment
The Primary 1 assessment is a 40 minute fun activity session. A friendly and experienced teacher will spend time with your child, getting to know them so we can gauge their educational needs.
Your child will enjoy games, activities and puzzles with a member of staff who will get to know your child whilst having fun together. We are not looking for children who can read or write. We are simply looking to see how they ask questions, follow instructions, listen carefully and communicate with us. Activities will include memory and recall, sorting and fine motor skills.
Entrance assessments for Primary 2 and Primary 3 are ongoing from November. The assessment is approximately an hour, with a friendly and experienced teacher working one-on-one with your child on elements of Literacy and Numeracy.
If you have decided you would like your child to join our family of schools, please complete our online application form.
Our Admissions Manager, Cally Graham, will then be in touch to find a time that best suits your family. If you have already applied, please contact Cally on admissionsjs@esms.org.uk to book a slot. You can also ask Cally any questions you might have at this stage.
